Search engine optimisation: Create a Sitemap for your website

As the name suggests it is recommended to create a sitemap of all the pages within your website. This is useful for two reasons, human visitors can easily see all of your pages of your website at once and choose where they would like to navigate to.  More importantly for search engine purposes this site map allows the search engine spiders to instantly see all of the individual pages within your website, and hopefully aid search engine spiders to index all of them.

It is a good idea to place your keywords within the text links on your site map, so it gives the search engine a good idea of the relevant information that each destination webpage. The more keyword links that point towards the webpage will increase page will rank for page/keyword

It is advisable to create a sitemap.xml document which is uploaded to directly to the search engine. This file is directly uploaded to the search engine so you can ensure that you have made the search engines aware of all the website pages and then it’s up to the search engine to the side which page and it would like to include and rank.
