Search Engine Optimisation Duplicate Content

There is a fine line between search engine optimised text and keyword stuffed or duplicate text. An example of this could be a page where a plumber would like to be found in all his local geographical areas when a potential customer searches for his service.

This could easily be achieved by creating one page and repeating his keyword along with a geographical area or postcode for example:

Web designers in Surrey –  Web designers in Kingston Web Design in Surrey and so on.

Unfortunately you would end up with a page with your keyword repeated 30 or more times and this is unacceptable.  Avoid repeating wording or text across one page or multiple pages on your website.

Plagiarism or copying text and information from other websites will not benefit your website. When search engines come across duplicate content on the Internet the decision will be made as to who is the original source of the article. Once the choice has been made the other webpages will not be given credit or page rank.

Other content which could be considered as duplicate content is creating multiple webpages based upon one webpage of text, by simply changing just a few keywords in each of the pages, therefore you will end up with multiple pages with only slight changes in the content and this can be flagged as duplicate content.Contact us on 020 8643 2738 for advice or to discuss your project.
