Macromedia
Shockwave w3d Virtual Tour: Allows Macromedia
Director to display, manipulate and output three-dimensional
models. The w3d file scene output contains the scene's image
data and a set of object geometries and lighting instructions
used to create a complete 3D model. The model’s properties
are accessible through Lingo, Macromedia Director's built-in
programming language. Macromedia Director can output these
files so they can be played back in Web browsers (via the
Shockwave plug-in) or as stand alone applications. |

Virtual Tour: Allows VRML viewers to display
three dimensional models. The VRML file Scene output contains
the Scene’s output data and a set of object geometries
and lighting instructions that are used to create a complete
3D model. The model’s properties are accessible through
other VRML editing applications. |

Virtual Tour: Is an open format, standard
for XML-enabled 3D files. The X3D file Scene output contains
the image data necessary to create and manipulate 3D visual
effects, interaction and model-ling. The file’s properties
are accessible through most XML editing applications. |
